Distant Stitch is a well established Online Textile school founded by Sian Martin, an international textile artist and experienced teacher of stitched textiles. Siān developed the concept of Distant Stitch so that students could follow courses that fitted in with their life style. The website continues to be a gateway to distance learning in Embroidery and now with other textile related courses. Distant Stitch provides a personal, stimulating and enjoyable way of learning. Distant Stitch has a reputation for excellence and a proven track record with successful and satisfied students. |

As a Distant Stitch student, you will be able to achieve either a City and Guilds of London Certificate or a Distant Stitch Certificate. Each Course is structured around the City and Guilds syllabus in a logical and sequential way in easy stages. Our tutors write their own Courses; they support their students individually, building on their particular strengths and providing detailed written feedback in a constructive and sensitive manner. The Modules that make up a Course use straight forward text, easy to follow diagrams and full colour illustrations to guide students. Each year we run a Summer School at Urchfont College where students can meet with their tutor and fellow students. Currently this only available for Embroidey students. |
