Line Break (Shift + Enter)

Friday 27th to Monday 30th July 2018

Meet fellow students and share ideas. Be inspired and treat yourself.

Bobby Britnell and Sheila Mortlock will each tutor exciting workshops in our next Summer School event. They are both members of the Textile Study Group and are well known textile artists in their own right and experienced in leading fantastic workshops.

Bobby and Sheila have chosen an overall theme of 'Drawn Together' specially for Distant Stitch Summer School.

Bobby's workshop is called DRAWN TO THE LINE and is inspired by this quote by Henri Matisse - "Drawing is putting 'a line' around an idea"

Sheila's workshop is called DRAWN TO THE EDGE and is inspired by this quote by D. H. Lawrence - “Life is a travelling to the edge of knowledge, then a leap taken.” Learn new skills and ideas in one of the exciting workshops and the opportunity for an individual tutorial for students on the Level 3 Embroidery courses with Siân Martin.

Both workshops will be stimulating, informative and inspiring and will be designed to be accessible to all level 2 and 3 students. Skills and experiences developed in either workshop will give you renewed enthusiasm and increase your confidence in your future coursework. You are invited to secure your place on either workshop by making a booking as soon as possible.

Our Summer School is open to all our students, whatever the Course subject. The workshops will be aimed at students on levels 2 and 3 courses. Past students are welcome to join if places are available.
